News! News! The Wheels are Finally Turning for the Publishing of Reputation!
07/02/2026
It's been a long time coming and an agonising wait for some.
Thirteen years ago I opened a note book and began writing character sketches, plotlines and timelines for Reputation. Back then I thought I could finish the first draft before my baby, due six months later, would be born. In the end, she turned three before the first draft was finished.
Ten years later, friends who'd read my later manuscripts were asking me why I hadn't published. I was sure it needed a bit more work. They argued it was 'ready'. One particular go-getter put it like this, 'Done is better than perfect!'
Literary agents and competition readers gave me encouraging words and advice. My writing critique group helped me refine my work. And gradually, I got to that point of knowing it was as ready as it would ever be. There was nothing more I could do for it other than let it be birthed into the world, complete with its strengths and weaknesses, just like you and me.
For some writers, it's clear whether they will independenly publish their book or go the traditional route. Though I've always been open to either option, I've now made a firm decision to go indie with Reputation.
As a duty to my novel and my readers, I'll be planning this process thoughtfully to give the novel the best chance to find the readers who will love it, appreciate it and even bring it to their book groups, where I firmly believe it belongs.
Stay tuned for the release date and your invitation to the online launch event!
And thank you for waiting! Like my daughter, Reputation turns thirteen this year. She's thirteen years in this world and my novel is thirteen years in the making.
It's time!
